Almost a tragedy
Faith (18) was pushing this cart on the shoulder when an old man in a pickup fell asleep at the wheel and hit her head on. She was thrown thru the air but the cart probably saved her life. She's ok except for very large, sore bruise on her leg and some residual trauma. Happened in front of the home of a physician who witnessed it and examined her immediately. Very scary and upsetting to all of us who put our bodies on the line every day.
Puffball mushroom
Kim is holding a huge puffball mushroom found on the trail we walked for many miles on the way to Toledo. We had it with our dinner.
UN Building - NYC
I chose to be at the WECAN (Women's Earth and Climate Action Network) meeting at the UN rather than Wall Street. Very powerful and inspiring talks by mostly indigenous women from Peru, Canada, the Maldives, and other "sacrifice" areas.
Carbon "bubble"
Big carbon bubble balloon
used at Flood Wall Street action. Naturally, it got popped by police. Perfect!

Police everywhere
These officers are not the enemy, BP, the Koch brothers and other corporations who profit from the plunder and destruction of our earth are.
Battery Park. NYC
Peoples March participants gathering at Battery Park in Manhattan
prior to Flood Wall Street action where over 100 (including 6 of our young people) were arrested for sitting and blocking entrance to Wall Street. Corporate profits are driving climate change to a large degree. They rejoined us in Toledo last night. This is Gavain with Simon, age 8, (being interviewed by journalist) who is on our march with his wife and 3 small children. They weren't arrested. History demonstrates that just asking for the changes we need doesn't accomplish much. Watch for many more such actions ahead in this movement. We are fighting for our right to a livable planet for all life.
